Our story begins twenty years ago, in a place neither of us could have predicted would shape our forever: the Griffith Regional Theatre. Introduced through Brendan’s brother and a mutual friend, we crossed paths at a gig—one of those fleeting moments that quietly rearranges your life.
Manisha was instantly smitten, not just by Brendan, but by his humour. Specifically, his improv flip-phone comedy—an era-defining performance that somehow worked. What followed was a whirlwind romance compressed into two unforgettable weeks: late nights watching the Soccer World Cup, cinema dates, lazy afternoons in the park where Brendan enthusiastically showed off his soccer skills… including a memorable slide tackle that Manisha has never quite forgiven.
On the final morning before Brendan returned to Wollongong, he appeared at Manisha’s door with chocolate brownies in hand—a sweet goodbye before Manisha returned to Melbourne. Life, however, had other plans. Months later, Manisha bravely (and devastatingly) called it off, plunging what Brendan would later describe—quite dramatically—as “a dagger of despair” into the eager heart of a doe-eyed lad who truly believed this was the one.
And so, for sixteen years, we lived separate lives. One of us built a big life, family and career, while the other carried a quiet ache, watching from afar, never quite closing the browser tab that held Manisha’s Facebook page—favourited and untouched. There were moments of flirtation over the years, sparks that never fully disappeared, reminders that some connections refuse to fade.
Then one day, Brendan noticed something different. Only photos of Manisha. No distractions. No one else. And in a moment of bold optimism (and loving audacity), he thought: now’s my chance.
What started as a simple exchange of birthday wishes turned into a seven-hour video call. Despite the history and the heartbreak, Brendan—twinkle firmly in his eye—decided to give love another chance. After all, he couldn’t let Manisha make the biggest mistake of her life… twice.
Though famously indecisive, Brendan was unwavering this time. A week later, he drove from Sydney to Melbourne to see Manisha…Chocolate brownies in hand and promised he would move as soon as he finished university. Nine months of long-distance followed, filled with commitment, effort, and certainty. And true to his word, the very first weekend after uni ended, Brendan packed his life into boxes and relocated to Melbourne.
Some love stories pause. Some take the long way around. Ours waited patiently, grew quietly, and found its way home—twenty years later, right on time.

We suggest finding a place to stay at the goldcoast the night of the wedding to limit the travel time at night after the reception.
For the pre-wedding events we suggest finding something local with Airbnb etc. Close to our home to make travel easier. The area nearby has limited to none hotel/motels.
The area has a wide range of new developments and as such there are plenty of short stay rentals. Please get in touch with us and we can potentially help organise people to share accommodation with.
Note: Travel time between our home and the wedding venue is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.
